Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • Currently I offer virtual and in-person sessions in Bethesda, MD.

  • An individual 45 minute session, unless otherwise specified, is $200. Like most specialty providers, I do not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility.

  • I am an out-of-network provider so I am not in-network with any insurance companies. However, some people have more out-of-network benefits than they realize when it comes to mental health!

I recommend prospective clients call the number on the back of their insurance card and ask the following questions:

The 4 questions that you will want to ask an insurance representative:

    1. Does your plan include “out-of-network” coverage for mental health?

    2. What is your annual deductible for mental health benefits?

    3. What is your co-insurance? (What percentage does the plan cover?)

    4. Is there a limit on the number of sessions your plan will cover per year?

It is also helpful to find out how you can submit your Superbills to your insurance, which will be provided via email on a monthly basis upon request. The submission of a Superbill requires a mental health diagnosis.

You may also use your HSA/FSA checking account/debit card as a credit card to pay for therapy with pre-tax money set aside for health care expenses.

  • During your free consultation, I’ll encourage you to share the concerns that led you to seek therapy, discuss your goals, and ask any questions you may have. If we both feel that it’s a good fit, we can then schedule your intake appointment.

  • In our first session, which will last 45 minutes, I’ll ask you questions to better understand your current situation and past experiences. We’ll explore treatment options, create a personalized therapy plan, and start outlining goals for our future sessions.
